  MISSION STATEMENT

 

The Advocacy Project of AFP is to influence public policy on issues that affect residents of the West Bronx: affordable housing, education, employment, immigration, job development and nutrition; at the local, state and national level. The Advocacy Project is committed to raising the awareness of legislators and the public of the diverse problems confronting the residents of the West Bronx.  

PUBLICATIONS

The Advocacy Project publishes informational reports, booklets, and etc… to inform, foster individual civic participation, and promote the common good for all neighborhood residents.

PROJECT'S DUTIES

 

To promote AFP as the leading community based organization in issues dealing with affordable housing, education, employment, immigration, job development, and nutrition.

To educate the residents and community at large on the current issues affecting business, housing and social order.

To develop and implement advocacy campaigns that will influence local, state and national public policy on issues affecting the communities of the West Bronx.

To refer residents and the public with commercial, criminal, housing and immigration matters to external organizations for proper advice and representation.
